20-year-old Javokhir Sindarov from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, wins the FIDE Candidates Tournament in Cyprus and will challenge D. Gukesh from India for the World Championship title at the end of the year 2026.
After 13 rounds and his today's game against Anish Giri from the Netherlands ending in a draw, and with one round remaining, Sindarov holds a two-point-lead over Giri and is sure to win the Tournament.
