Suspenseful Rapid Chess Tournament Caïssa Junglinster 2026 with 65 participants

Big event today in Junglinster where our 9-round Rapid Chess Tournament took place with 65 participants coming from all over Luxembourg and even from Rheinland-Pfalz.
Time control was 10 minutes plus 5 seconds increment.
After 8 rounds 4 players were in the lead with 6,5 points each and just behind 4 players with 6,0 points. That means 8 players were still in it to win the tournament.
Finally Johnny Guo from Schifflange was the strongest and won with a half-a-point-lead over the runner-ups Samuel Merhawi from Strassen and Shreyaas Karthik from Differdange.
